EUROPES is a contemporary culture festival organised by La Fábrica that aims to explore the creative world in today’s Europe. It will be held in Barcelona at over 200 spaces in the city between 21 october and 14 november 2010.
EUROPES aims to showcase the latest cultural and artistic trends. The festival features a crosscutting programme that reflects the complex cultural fabric in Barcelona today and will shake up the city’s cultural calendar with over 250 activities, including screenings, performances, talks, meetings, exhibitions and conferences.
EUROPES is a city festival that turns Barcelona into a gateway to Europe, the epicentre of contemporary creation on the continent for three weeks. It works closely with the city’s leading cultural centres, including the TNC, MACBA, Gran Teatre del Liceu, Sala Beckett, Museu Picasso, Mercat de les Flors, L’Auditori and CaixaForum, amongst others. They will also be joined by over 30 civic centres, 36 city libraries, over 60 art galleries and a large number of bookshops, art schools, universities and restaurants. Europes is eager to reach every corner in the city and reach out to the widest possible audience.
EUROPES is a multidisciplinary festival that offers the Barcelona public a wide range of contents in fields such as plastic and visual arts, performing arts, music, film, literature, architecture, cuisine and design. The Festival will also feature a major space for exploring European models of cultural management, thought and debate on new paradigms of contemporary creation.
EUROPES is an annual festival. The first edition this year aims to ensure it is here to stay and grow year on year as a benchmark festival for three weeks every autumn – an unmissable event on the international cultural calendar.
EUROPES is only possible thanks to the support from Barcelona City Council, the Catalan Government and the Spanish Ministry of Culture, as well as cultural centres in the city, institutes in the countries taking part and our sponsors.
All of them have helped make EUROPES a dream come true.
Welcome to EUROPES!
